APril 6th 2010 this is a day I will never forget . It started with a brief pause for thought as it would have been my late father's birthday. I had to go to work as there was only a few days left befiore the holiday. As soon as I got to work and done several jobs I phoned to see how mum was as I had not had any phone calls during the night. I was told she was sleeping , I knew then something was going to be bad that day as normally at least she was awake i.e. that quality time in the morning, But now that time had come and passed. As I was at work my sister took my step-father to see mum and they stayed about 10 minutes as she was not looking very well i.e. the cold and clammy hands and the distant glare inher greying eyes. She would not drink any more liquid and attempts just saw a few drops dribble from her mouth. Shortly after they left I phoned again to see how she was and they told me the doctor was attending her as she had been verk sick and was coughing up blood again. They said to phone a bit later. At 3pm I phoned and the lovely Philipino Nurse was crying into the phone when she told me that Mum had just died. I burst into tears at work and was told that I should go home. I went to where my wife works and was in tears then. The rest of the evening was bad but in some ways a relief that things had now come to an end. My sister stayed with Step-father all of the night.
