Bladder Cancer

This is my first blog I am my husbands carer he has an incurable aggressive bladder cancer he has lost 3 stone in weight he suffers from loss of appetite plus constant diarrhoea he has become so weak he was admitted to hospital yesterday to try to find the cause of the diarrhoea he also has a Nephestromy in his left kidney which was due to be replaced with a stent this coming Tuesday he was very much looking forward to that, but is very much afraid it cannot be done because of his weak condition I feel I am emotionally drained do other carers feel this way too?  Loretta

    Hi Loretta,

    I too was diagnosed with incurable aggressive BC and given only weeks to live - 3 years ago.

    Whilst each of us is different, I hope your husband has as much success as I did.

    Whilst I initially rejected chemo (which I was told would be useless anyway, and radiation & further surgery) and tried CAM (complimentary & alternative medicine), I later found chemo did have a 5% chance. So when the CAM didn't prevent the tumour regrowing, I had chemo - and it worked (and wasn't as bad as I'd expected).

    So now, over 2 years in remission, I still do lots of CAM, hoping it will keep the BC at bay.

    My husband is home from hospital now he did not have the Nephrostomy replaced with stent next week he is have his Radiotherapy treatment plan but has been warned by his oncologist if it causes diarrhoea it will be stopped my my husband sees radiotherapy as his last hope I am finding it hard to keep his spirits up Loretta
