My Diary A visit of my son

February 7, 2010

My son has been with us today and he has just left and the pain in his eyes he doesn’t have to say a word –I know what he is thinking. I have to go to the Hospital for my results after the Chemo so all fingers are crossed and my toes.

I did a bit more of the garden tidy at the back and trimmed the plants in the pond where the Robin came to watch, how sweet they are with their wonderful red breast and they seem so tame don’t they, a chirpy little fellow following me around.

I swept my mess up and Ray took it to the skip for me he is always there to help.

We had a coffee and and a hot cross bun and then took the dog out and walked round to the beach where there were Sunday walkers having a stroll out before their dinners.

Its so good not to have to work and we can enjoy our beach walks every day now.

We had dinner I had Macaroni Cheese while Ray had Chicken Tikka this cooking 2 different meals is making a lot of work but Ray still wants his meat.

My Son and his Partner  came in as they had come this way to a Christening and I was very pleased to see them we had a real laugh and look back to last year and the fact we were in Spain visiting them this time last year.

He only came back home to be near to me as I was ill and I know they yearn to go back in the warm. They are happy together though and that makes me happy.

Well they have just set off back to Surrey and given me strict instructions to phone tomorrow as soon as I know the results which of coarse I will do.

Hope all goes well tomorrow.  The waiting is always the worst part of getting results.  G. only sees a respitary consultant now, the oncologist wrote him off literally a year ago.  Just goes to show they don't know everything.  His check ups go something like "How are you, any problems?"  Not to disappoint the consultant,  I am often tempted to say "Yes we have spent all our savings on treatment that the NHS won't fund"  Then there is the quick check of the drainage wound, and a listen to his chest.  Then (so far), the verdict.  You look well, come and see me again in three months.  I guess we works on the "if the patient looks well he is principle"  Not much reallly when we normally have to wait two hours to be seen.

I do envy you being able to get out in the garden.  I am longing to do some serious work in ours, but it the ground is still far too wet.  We have had another cold and miserable weekend here in the Midlands, the forecast for next week isn't much better.

G's next check is creeping up on us now.  the first week in March so fingers crossed the improvement we saw in Frankfurt is maintained.

    "Speak" again soon

    Love

Lots and lots of luck for tomorrow, i will be thinking of you as i am on my way to London for a first after treatment scan myself, then of course i will be awaiting my results too. I shall look out for your blog when i get back! Gillian.

  • Its the waiting everytime that gets you down.

I think you should be given a code so you can go into your own notes and find the results as soon as.

I wish you luck to and hope your results are good.
