My Diary of a Mesowarrior -The Sun and Rain today

3 minute read time.

We woke up to a very wet day as the heavens opened and soaked us then low and behold the sun came out but the wind was cold.

I walked the dog out while Ray did all the housework which he is getting really good at but I have been encouraging him to do it as he will have to look after himself if my nasty takes over.

Thats why I also let him get involved in the shopping as I fear he will only have frozen dinners he!he!

I enjoyed the walk with my Louis and he walked past a dog , no fuss he is winning.

I came back and help Ray with the housework and had a chat on my MHFacts forum as I have joined in the mens thread of Prostate cancer as we are trying to get the men to have a simple blood test that could save their lives

My Friend Norman (I stayed on his drive last year) has said

Hi Pete! Sorry you had your NYE celebrations interrupted. You talk of symptoms starting…

Several of the cases highlighted on these threads mention the fact that there were NO symptoms. When I asked my consultant about the time scale, he suggested it wasn’t really that urgent as I had had the cancer for 4, 5, 6, maybe 7 years but the tumour had been too small to generate a reading.

The main SYMPTOMS seem to be the sudden urge to go for a wee, but little flows, it hurts like hell, the job isn’t finished, the urge is still there… as is the pain. When it comes on almost as quickly as that, it suggests an inflamed prostate or an enlarged one. As the waterworks go through the middle of the prostate, it’s easy to see how a restriction might occur. A friend of mine, well fit he is too, went down this road and eventually had his prostate ‘scraped’. He is now back to full fitness but suffered a lot of pain prior to his operation.

For you Pete, I wish you well. Oh, Happy New Year!

They are really have a good discussion and I pop in now and again to talk to them as they know I have this Cancer so they talk freely to me.

Sometimes you need an ear to bend and it is amazing just how many men have come forward and have had treatment fo this common cancer that if caught early enough they have a 100% chance of recovery.

After dinner of a beef casserole, just beef and vegetables cooked in a slow cook and I added curry powder to Rays so he had a curry, we washed up and then took the dog for another walk and this time he went past 10 dogs as everyone seemed to choose 3.30 to walk there pooches.

We followed a neighbour, Jean into the Park  with her little dog Peggy as she also had been out for a walk and I think she was amazed at how good Louis is now.

I made a carrot soup for tea, just 2lb of carrots chopped with 1 onion a clove of garlic and grated ginger root, blitz in the liquidizer with a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and hey presto you have a cheap but healthy soup

Carrot Soup

I have found 2 photos on my computer I would like to share

me on my scooter in 1981

The day I took Terry Tony and Christina to London on my own it must be just before Christina was killed so about 1975

Hi Mavis,  I like the recipe for the soup, thanks.  Louis sounds as if he's being really good, did he not like walking past dogs before? I think he's lovely, our pets keep us going sometimes.  The photos are very nice, and I love reading your diary, I read it every week.  I haven't heard anything from Tilerman, (Colin) I know he was due to have chemo, which he has at home, and I would like to know how to arrange that as a possibility, I know you can go through Bupa, has anyone else had it at home that you know of?  Best wishes,  Angela

  • Louis was a rescue and the first year of his life was a disaster and I had to go with my friend Jo and take him away.

He came with me and let me cuddle him straight away and took to the motorhome as well.

But he hated people and other dogs and it has been 4 years of very hard work and now he passes dogs so long as there is a big gap and yet off the lead he has so much fun with other dogs and loves chasing them.

The lead has a lot to do with it so he must feel trapped.

I love that read my diary (have you seen my book ) people cant put it down once they start reading it.

I hope Colin is ok there are others that are missing its so hard.

Right Im now going to find out about chemo at home for you I will come back xxx
