I had to visit Margate QE Hospital for this scan so that’s quiet a journey and thank goodness we have a car.
It was a very sunny day but extremely cold as the North wind was blowing from the Sea.
Housework down and dog walked we set off down the Thanet Way past Manston Airport where they are building a whole new Road and have had a very successful archeology dig
The big dig has already unearthed a multitude of artifacts and is expected to reveal even more secrets about Kent’s past.
And to ensure every step is covered, it is being captured on film for a BBC Two documentary.
The rich vein of important archaeological remains discovered along the entire route of the East Kent Access Road is being recorded for the TV show Digging For Britain, which will be screened in August.
The excavation is the largest dig in the country this year, at more than six kilometres long.
Finds so far include 12 Bronze Age ring ditches – the remains of burial mounds dating back more than 3,500 years, Iron Age enclosures and a village at Ebbsfleet which lasted into Roman times.
There are also areas of Roman settlements, fields and trackways; Roman and Saxon cemeteries; Saxon buildings; and a large Saxon enclosure with huge quantities of shellfish.
More recent finds include trenches excavated to defend Manston airfield during World War Two.
We arrived at the Hospital and the Scanning dept was so busy with so many patients from A&E so we sat waiting until it was my turn an then I went in and on the table and through the scanner and that was it I was soon getting dressed again.
On the way home at we called in at the Shopping Centre at Broadstairs and went to M&S and I treated myself to lovely underwear in lovely colours, Red, Blue, and Pink. Bras and Knickers so thats me cheered up.
We also went around the food hall and bought a Indian meal for 2 and other treats –so thats Ray Happy.
We arrived home to a phone call from a Beuty Consultant and I have an appointment for a back massage and eyebrow ‘s plucked –I had a Xmas voucher from our friends to use and so I will add to it to have other choices.
Then i got a phone call from Kate who has Interviewed me and written a story for Yours magazine and she had the exciting news that Im in the Xmas magazine which is a great honour.
A photography will be phoning to make a date to take my Photo she said, I think she is excited as myself.
Well these are exciting times.
Back to reality we have a leaky Radiator and the plumber is coming tomorrow.
