My Diary --a trip to Minnis Bay

1 minute read time.

We woke up to another frost that soon cleared when the sun came beaming through.

We set off for Minnis Bay when we had eaten breakfast, showered and completed the usual chores.

It was a great run down the Thanet Way past Thanet Earth ( I really must google and find out what they are doing in there)

We went through Birchington turned left and came out at Minnis Bay

Minnis Bay

I googled and found the Tourist Description:- With its large sandy bay and secluded character this beach offers the perfect mix of seaside facilities in a relaxed atmosphere. A safe family beach Minnis Bay is ideal for bathing, with its patrolling lifeguards and separate areas for bathing and water sports. Young children are also well catered for with a well-equipped children's area and a lost children's centre. There's plenty for all the family to do, whether it be action-packed activities such as windsurfing, canoeing and kite surfing or simply enjoying the sea air and taking a gentle stroll along the promenade, or on one of the many impressive coastal paths.

It is and interesting place and plenty of room to park a Motorhome all day.

On The Cliffe's

We walked up on the Cliff grass top and threw the ball for Louis to wear him out --which it did.

When we had enough of the very cold wind we jumped back in the car and drove back home to the warm again.

I'm taking my pain killers twice a day now as the pains in the chest do niggle me but I have read that it is the nerves that cause the pains in the chest from the Operations on the Lungs, I do hope so.

The tiredness when I have been out worries me to as I'm still sleeping a lot which makes Ray laugh at me as I wake up and he is looking at me and laughing.

But I'm able to say they have given me a good quality of life and I do enjoy myself, and I love all this being spoilt.

What lovely pictures Mavis.  I so envy you being so close to the sea. Most of the places to visit here are high open spaces, and the weather has just been too cold and windy to comtemplate walking very far.  The Derbysire peaks are beautiful in summer, but treacherous in snow and ice.

At least today we have been able to spend some time tidying up the garden, and inspecting the damage from the snow and frosts.

The early daffodils are just starting into flower, so spring may finally be here.

    Have a good weekend

    Daffie

  • We saw 2 daisy's today just where I stood to take the photo from the cliffe.

I love working in the garden you can loose yourself in thoughts as you work.

You have a good weekend to

We have our own travel agent in you Mavis. You are a good ambassador for your part of the country. I live at the seaside too but also the Lake district is only 20 minutes away, so I have the best of both worlds. I hope your pain is nothing serious. Lots of Love Julie xxx

  • I just write this diary of my daily going on's to prove that when you are terminal you can live a life and i seem to want to see so much of what is around me.

I love living here in East Kent and I cant wait for the warmer weather to really get out and about and see more of the country --if time is running out then winter is holding me up.

    Love Mavis
