We visited Appledorehttp://www.villagenet.co.uk/rotherlevels/villages/appledore.php as the Kent MCC Rally was being held there and so we set off on Friday with the M/Home all packed with food and travelled down through Ashford and the stunning Romney Marshes with thousand of sheep grazing.
The weather was good to us and we arrived on the quiet site very early.
After setting up camp we walked into the village past the pretty Church and went in the village stores where Ray bought some cakes.
We chilled out and had a very quiet night just relaxing and reading as Ray has bought an E-Book reader and has 7 books on it so far and has 1000 ready on the Computer for reading--how he thinks he will read this amount I do not know.
Gradually many friends arrived and set up camp near us but we went to bed by 10pm and was really chilling out.
It poured hard in the night and I loved it, as it beat on the Heiki I snuggled under the duvet and went back to sleep.
Waking up in the morning and saying hello to people we took Louis for a walk through the village and into the recreation grounds and let Louis off lead where he wore himself out chasing after the ball he kept from his friend Buster.
Lunch was next and then a snooze where we were very refreshed so off again fo a walk on the Lydd road which winds through the Romney Marshes, where we could see the Wind-farm they have built.
We then went back to the site where we passed on the way a family who had been Canoeing in 2 canoe's and were covered in weed from the Royal Military Canal.
The evening was a get together in the Marquee for a real chinwag and a catch up on what everyone had been doing.
Sunday after a coffee get together we did another round walk with some friends and Louis walked around with them and played off the lead for a while but there were sheep in some fields so he had to stay on lead sometimes.
We worked our way to the Village High Street and browsed around an Antique shop where the man told me to come in with the dog which was very sweet.
When we got back to site we had a chat with others and then they said by one by one as they set off for home.
We came home and the washing is in the washing machine ready for the morning.
I now have a Scan to go to on Thursday at 5.45pm --hmm how late is that.
Of coarse I'm nervous again but I want a pass for the next 3 months so all my fingers are crossed---and toes.
