Hospital appointment

2 minute read time.
We had to go to the Oncology Department today for a Chemo assessment.
As we travelled through the rain, the most beautiful rainbow was on the edge of the dark cloud.
As the sun was also shinning the colors were so vibrant it was a wonderful site over Canterbury Cathedral Spire.
Arriving in the hospital car park I used my blue badge for the first time and parked in the disablement car park and set the clock for 3 hours.
There is a walk then down to the department and I set off at a fast pace then after a few yards started to slow down, I said to Ray I'm like a toy you wind up put it down and it gradually goes along and losses the wind and you have to wind it up again.--Well that's me to a tee.
In the Oncology dept we were booked in and I was weighed and then we sat and sat and watched everyone go in before me.
A nurse then said after an hour --who are you waiting for--ehmm I'm not Im waiting to go in--oh dear.
I finally went in to see the Doctor (who gave her apologies)  and we shook hands and then I was asked how was I.
Well I told her all that is written on the days 1/10. Everything I said that had happened she said was the Chemo.
She said I'm on such an aggressive Chemo  so I have agreed that if I get a reprieve every 10 days and I then feel better like I do now then I can keep putting up with it.
She gave me a prescription for Sickness tablets (that hadn't been given to me before and should have been) that I can swallow therefore do away with the horrible taste that my Gp's give me as they dissolve in the mouth.
I also told her about my not sleeping at night so she agreed I could have sleeping tablets so that was that.
She is sending me an appointment for a visit in 3 weeks to see how I'm doing and another for a scan to find out if everything is ok inside me.
With a goodbye we left and outside the rain had stopped and I have been thinking of nothing else but a nice juicy steak all day so we went to the Harvester at Hernebay walked in and an old friend from 10years ago came and served me (now how funny was that)
We had a good chat and I had the best sirloin steak ever and a bowl of Icecream mmmmm
On the way home I wanted to call in Sainsbury and get my prescription and then we went in B&Q and bought a new toilet seat as I have been looking through the old one for 10 days so I fancied another color.
I stood in B&Q holding toilet seats up and looking through and asked Ray which one suited me---we had a good laugh.
I have had a good day infact I have had a great day.
