Day 8 Chemo 3 cake baking day

1 minute read time.

We got up late today –well 7.30am which is great as I have no sleeping tablets so a natural sleep is better.
We showered and got dressed and Ray started baking apple crumble so I took the dog for a walk.
It wasn’t raining as I went round so I slowly waked and it was nice to get out.
When I got back Ray was underway washing up and getting everything out to make the Xmas Cake.
It was great fun as he weighed the ingredients, then creamed the butter and sugar, beat in the eggs and fold in the flour.
The final bit of adding in all the fruit– he was really enjoying himself.
It seems to me that we are enjoying one anothers  company more so now and having more fun at the moment than we ever did –as we enjoy simple things like a days baking.
With the cake in the oven cooking slowly and the apple crumble baked and cooling he had all day to go back to a new web site he is designing for the MCC Kent group so he was happy.
I made us lunch, cheese and crackers and tomato soup I decided to make some chutney.
Chopped onions and apples put them into a saucepan with currents, sugar, cider, vinegar and spices let that simmer until thickened and you have chutney.
I potted it up and have put it away for Xmas.
After a sleep it was time to get dinner on so Lamb steaks, sausages and mashed potatoes, tomatoes and mushroom’s
All very nice.
It has really rained hard tonight –how much rain can we have.
I have still had that metallic taste and mouth ulcer today.
But its been a good day.
