Day 4 feeling a bit better

1 minute read time.
Day 4 of Chemo
Well yesterday it only took a phone call and the Doc was writing a prescription out for Anti Sickness as we spoke and put it on the front desk for Ray to collect.
I'm sure I must be on a priority list at the surgery as they are being so good.
The tablets helped but I stayed in bed sleeping and sick all day until at last about 4.30 I had a shower and and was able to eat a weird dish of Smoked haddock and Prawns (It was what I fancied)
Followed by a yoghurt.
Went to bed at 9pm and I did sleep but awake 3 times to be ill, poor Ray and poor dog I disturbed them both.
The dog is getting very protective so this has to be addressed he cant lay by my side all the time.
When Ray takes him out he walks so far then digs his heels in and runs back home.
That's not good he needs his exercise.
Got up today and have had a nice shower and put on a sparkle jumper and feel better but I'm still queasy but the metallic taste has gone and the fluids have passed through as I don't feel so bloated now.
Ray has gone off to shop (loads of soup on the list as I feel that is the safest thing to eat) so at least he will have time away from me --he needs a break.
This seems now to be a battle to survive --I hope it works.
I can now fully understand anyone who says they don't want Chemo as it does seem madness to be made ill on top of everything else.
I have never talked to anyone who has been through all this and at the moment I'm scared that this is how I'm going to feel for 6 sessions of the Chemo.
Does it get better in a few days so you can live normal for the rest of the 21 days? ---only time will tell.
Well its a nice day the suns shinning and I'm alive so I'm trying to keep that chin up.
Now where's those anti sickness tablets.

Hi...the side effects from my chemo only tend to last a few days...nothing to severe...but i feel tired mostly n everything tastes weird...the nausea is usually well controlled by the anti sickness tabs...i know everyone is on different chemo n people react differently to it...im must be one of the lucky ones.

I hope you feel better soon...you have to look at the bigger picture as they say...i dread going but i know it will be worth it wen its all over...

    Take care...

    Love Sharon xxxx

Hi, Hugs to you and hope that the side effects are temporary.

Dogs .... amazing creatures.  I know and agree with what you say about needing his exercise etc but ..... I am a real believer in them understanding so much - so I think you should just know he LOVES you and thinks you need special care at the moment - and I don't think we can argue with that now, can we.
