Day 18 chemo 2 and home grown new potatoe's

2 minute read time.

We had a great lie in again today, at last I'm sleeping right through the night.

Had a lazy breakfast and showered as Ray did all the housework--I think I will buy him and apron for Christmas.
He has really been doing his share of housework to help me rest. I don't know what I would do without him, the word Partnership has really come to mean something in our Marriage and we are working together on everything at the moment.
My zapped operation and drain wound is healing very well and the square burn marks are peeling too --do they ever go away or will I be marked forever.
I have been growing some potatoes in a pot --just old ones, that the eyes grew, so instead of throwing them away I stuck them in a pot of soil.
The green plants had died down so I turned the pot out and found loads of lovely new potatoes which I cooked for dinner tonight with some mint, all very nice with carrots and parsnips added to a beef stew.
Stewed apple cooked with honey and cinnamon for sweet and we were full.

It has been a very warm and sunny day so I was able to walk on the beach and the tide was very high but calm, the dog has a great time and enjoy's himself on the days I do manage a longer walk.
Having a dog is good as you have to exercise them he doesn't understand I have problems with energy levels and shows no mercy as I have to keep throwing the ball.
Came home shattered and once again an afternoon catnap to recharge my batteries.
Read my book (nearly finished) and had the dinner I have already mentioned.
Friends have been and gone and we have had a good evening  a good natter though makes me so tired but my spirits have risen a bit tonight.
I had a email yesterday from a friend that made me laugh (I hope he doesn't mind me saying it here )
He said---well have just got back from 4th and final chemo treatment tonight, was in for 6hrs a long time and boring, they have told me that the previous treatment has worked and the cancer has shrunk, feel ok but will have to keep a low profile for the next 12 days or so and not pick up any infections,so must keep the youngest grandchild away nothing more contagious than young children, I know just what he means as I watch children sniff and wipe their hands everywhere and your think GERMS I have done so well so far and take my temperature everyday, as that's what they advise.
Well I think that's enough for tonight.
Goodnight xx
