We had to travel to Margate through very high winds and heavy rain. When we arrived in the hospital car park 2 fire engines steamed in and I realized the fire alarms were ringing away. We had to wait to go in and then they informed us the Xray Department had flooded so we couldn't go to that part of the hospital. A nurse asked me where was I going and I answered I had an appointment for a Cat scan, she said to go with her and I was personally escorted round corridors I had never seen before and then into the department that I needed, where she booked me in and I was seen straight away by another nurse, invited to strip off and put on a hospital night gown and dressing gown. Out came a man who put a needle in my arm and inserted a tube in which he said they will put a dye into while I was being scanned. I could not believe the speed this was all being done especially as I was 1 hour early anyway. I went in and laid on the table that then travels up to the scanner -they took one scan and then put in the dye and took another and that was it all done. I was asked to get dressed again,, after they took out the needle but I went to a door and it was locked so I went to the next and it was an office --there I stood with my clothes in a basket and dressed in a nighty. Ray said what are you doing-- you got undressed over there by the Scanner room. Errrm --a senior moment had taken place . Off we went to Canterbury Park and Ride and had lunch at a restaurant of Soup and a Roll and look around the shops. I could stay awake in the car coming home as I was shattered. Had a nice sleep when I got home and felt more awake to cook Ray a Chicken Curry and Smoked Haddock and salad for myself. Lazed around all evening. I should know the result of the Scan on my Monday visit to the Oncologist as she will know by then what is going on with the Chemo --if it is doing anything to my nasty.
