Day 1 of 2nd Session the right Tablets should make it better this time.

3 minute read time.

We arrived at 7.45 parked the car in the disabled car park and set the clock on the blue Badge for 3 hours, walked down to the main Hospital and I was feeling well and strong, the best day.
I was put into a Reclining chair this time and set up with a fluid bag of 500mls straight away and there I stayed for 2 hours with no other patients, so I told Ray to go home as it is to long a day sitting there.
Off Ray went and gradually the other Patients arrived one by one.
The husbands that did stay only looked so bored after they had bought the paper and coffee,
I  sat and read my book most of the day.
A man arrived next to me who had come from the William Harvey hospital he told me how he had just gone to the Doctors for a tooth ache and the swelling, that he though was an abscessed but the dentist had referred him to the Hospital where they found it was Cancer, he had his teeth out on the right hand side and the Tumour cut out.
They used skin grafts from his thigh and a muscle from his chest Eating was very difficult for him but was speaking very plain.
It didn't stop him from chasing the nurses --he was a real flirt.
He started the pre fluids to the Chemo but also had to go to the Radiology for marking up for treatment later in the day but while he was under the machine he had a mild stop of blood flow to the head as the wounds had not healed from the op and they Doctor said that was still called a mild stroke.
He had lost an hour in his mind so he came back very confused.
He remembered me (who doesn't --once met) But he couldn't remember that reg of his car or where it was parked --the prime minister or the date.
Gradually he came round but they stopped all treatment and booked him in for observation overnight.
So I sat there not bored at all.
The cleaner kept running after me with closing the blinds to shut the sun from my eyes, closing doors when I got chilled, he is a real nice guy.
So gradually all the cCemo Crisplatin and Pemetrexed where feed into my viens in between flushes of Saline and Duretics
The day was passing well, with lunch of soup and roll and ice cream and several cups of coffee being served.
Peggy, my friend came in the early afternoon bring gifts of Honey and a box of dates and  we had a great chat and a luagh which passed the time away.
Ray got there at Five as the traffic was bad again in Canterbury so he was able to see Peggy, then I was finished at 5.30 so I had a last measured wee in the toilet and the nurse was so pleased as the measurement this time where very good .
900mls and 2 800mls .
The fact I didn't have water tablets last time was wrong as I need help to disperse all the 5500mls that they put in to me.
This time I have Metoclpramide for sickness, Bumetanide for the Duretics, Zopiclone for sleeping, Dexmethasone Steriods,  my folic acid, and pain killers The pills are building up.
My arms are doing very well now, apart from the 2 ring figure that have a bent and have a leaning appearance and my toes feel funny too half of my feet the numbness persist in the right arm but the pain in the shoulders have subsided which in my eyes is a good sign and now all the fluid has drained I breath very natural which is an even better sign.
I'm always aware of the Tumour in the left part of my back bit it is only a dull feeling.

Well we came home in the dark and was glad to get indoors, as the night air was cold,  ray had a nice Lamb roast all Ready  followed by a piece of carrot cake with mashed banana on.
I have Cakes baked and Pies and Crumbles in the Freezer and so a pattern is revolving of when I'm well get ready for when I'm not and it is working.
The day I was dreading turned out to be very good and this time I have only put on 2 pounds so I should loose  that today easy as I have to carry on with the water tablets.
So far so good I fell better this time but it didn't really kick in until a couple of days later so we will see.
