waiting for radiotherapy

2 minute read time.
Well i went last week for the follow up from my 2nd op and my specialist told me they are glad they did the 2nd op as there was still a little bit of the nasty tumour left but that has been taken out and as far as i'm aware it has all gone now. so that was great to here and now i can start my radiotherapy. Have my planning day next wednesday which i am nervous about as not sure what i am going to have to go through but i am sure it will be fine. My first actual session is 30th June so got a bit of time to get things done before i have to drive everyday to hospital in the afternoons. My boyfriend booked us tickets to see the stage show wicked in london on 3rd july so i am very excited about that. I now have my eyebrows back and my lashes are still growing and can wear mascara again now which is wicked.I do have to remember now though to shave under my arms lol. I am no longer wearing my wigs anymore. I decided to put them to bed and go out with my head held high and proud with my short hair. I am so shocked at how quick it is coming back. I now have a full head of hair even if it is very very short i don't care, iv got hair again, plus i now have more than my dad ahaha. I had lunch with my grandma and my dad today and it was lovely. Since being diagnosed i have a new attitiude towards my family. I never really made much of an effort to see my gran but now i try and see her as much as possible and also i go over to my parents alot more and see my older sister more. i just want to spend as much time with them as possible because family are so important and prescious. My brother in law has his birthday bbq this saturday so really looking forward to and showing off my new hair. All of a sudden i have become more brave about things and not giving a monkeys what people think of me, yeah ok i can see the odd people look at me coz i have very very short hair but hey who cares, they dont know me!! love and hugs xxx

    Hi Louise,

Just a little note to say i'm so glad things are going well for you.  I hope that all your radiotherapy goes well and you enjoy your show on 3rd July.

Don't worry about what other people think, you just hold your head up high and keep positive like you have been.  Being positive certainly is a major part in getting us all through this nasty disease.

    Take Care, Shady xx

    Hi you Littlestar

You may have shorter hair than some people but I bet they haven't got as big a smile on their faces as you have right now.  You have had a shock insight to how life should be lived, given a second chance!!  I too have short hair, not because of cancer, but because I pay to have it kept this way.  I always think young ladies eyes look so beautiful when they haven't got a big fringe hiding them!  Have fun with the BBQ, the show and the family.  Best of luck with the radiotherapy!  Enjoy your life.

Good luck with your radiotherapy, I met some lovely people when going for mine every day and the staff were great. Like you I now make a conscious effort to see more of my family, I hadn't spoken to one of my sisters for 3 years and she rang me up when I was diagnosed. Life is too short to fall out isn't it! I also think what the hell, Im going to do what I want now, I mya not have the chance later, if people don't like it tough!!!!! Im pleased your doing well, take care viv
