getting there

1 minute read time.
Well it will be two weeks since the op tomorrow and my boob is still very very bruised but it does look much better than last week. The infection is clearing up nicely and i have more movement in my arm now...well i say movement, my arm is actually very painful and tender to touch. Have a physio appointment on thursday so see what they say. I am pretty sure it's the tendon thats gone crazy!!. Any one else had this problem after having there nodes removed. Also thinking a week today is my 2nd op, which i am not worrying about so much because at least this time it is only a day case procedure and no drain needed. They just need to have a bit more of me because the 1st op they didnt get enough of a clear margin around the remaining lump. Better be safe than sorry and leave some of the little blighter behind hey!! my hair is coming along nicely, although the top of my head the hair is growing alot slower than the sides, and also my eyelashes are showing not alot a growth, so wondered if they take longer? if anyone can share there experieance with me i regarding their hair growing back i would be grateful.

    Hi Louise,

Glad you are on the road to recovery.  I still am having problems with my arm after my second op in february to remove my lymph nodes.  I asked the breast nurse last week it this was normal and she said yes, it's because of the nerves being damaged during the operation.  It could take up to a year to return to normal.  Great i thought !!

Glad you hair is growing back, i had to have my shaved off on saturday as it was falling out everywhere and really stressing me out.  Never mind i will have to wear my wig for the first time tomorrow, hope its not windy lol.

Good luck for your second op, hope everthing goes ok for you.  Take care  Shady x

  • Had my lymph nodes removed with mastectomy in April 08. Arm movement was good until I finished radio in November but now has seized up a little. Am going to have physio soon as the surgeon who is to do my reconstruction says I need it!!!!

My hair is back now albiet short and for the first time in my life its curly.

The eyelashes are more or less as normal now but my eyebrows are still very sparce.

Am still keeping my wig for bad hair days.

Tis nice to wear mascara again!!!!!!!!

    Love
