Beans on Toast

Less than one minute read time.
Today my brother has his stent fitted to try and enable him to eat. He is very thin and has lost so much weight. All he is wishing for is to eat beans on toast, not champagne and strawberries, not the finest fillet steak or the sweetest pudding, just plain old beans on toast. His prognosis is very poor and he has been given weeks - maybe 2 months with his burst of chemo. I am praying that just one thing goes well and in the next couple of weeks we can make him beans on toast. That would make me happy. I just wanted to ask a favour - could you, if you remember, just say a little prayer for him today that his operation goes well.

    Hi Pal

I hope  your brother's operation goes well, I know how you must be feeling with being told this news about him , and my heart goes out to you both.

It must be heartbreaking for you to see him unable to do what most of us take so much for granted.I am not a believer in the man avbove, but I will be thinking of you and hoping he gets to eat his beans on toast..  We are all here to support you if you need to talk you are welcome to  pm me, and I mean that sincerely.

    My thoughts are with you.

Hope the operation goes well and the chemo helps - it can really do so. Fingers crossed for some quality time for you all, with lots of beans on toast (pureed perhaps to begin with?).

Not a lot to wish for is it? I hope it all goes well and he's able to enjoy some normal meals. It'll make him feel so much better. (And you I expect!) Little beans on toast prayer has been said with sincerity.

Another sleepless night - hence why I am blogging at this time.   Thank you all for your kind thoughts and words.   It didnt go as planned.    When he was wheeled down for his op there had been no radiologist booked.  So they cancelled the op and told him "You'll have to come back on Wednesday".  They then sent him home on the bus (yes - didnt even arrange transport for him, or ring one of his family)and just to top it all, when he was admitted they took all his meds off him,  they sent him home with nothing.  He then spent 2 hours trying to organise some pain relief. To say I am appauled that a terminally ill patient is treated this way is beyond me, let alone that this is my brother.   I am screaming so loud inside I think I will explode.   Thank you MANCHESTER ROYAL INFIRMARY - How professional.
