I am 39 years old, married and have a girl who 6 and a boy who is 2 years old. We live in Scotland. My husband and I both live very far from family. I'm a foreigner and so is my husband. English is not my mother tongue. I'm a stay home mum who has been lucky to be able to spend time with the children until they start school. I was planning to go back to work next year, as soon as my youngest started nursery school. i guess that will have to wait.
On September 9th, 2022 I felt some needle like pain between my breast and arm while I was sitting. My mum had breast cancer when she was 49 years old, 10 years ago. I checked and I had a lump. It was Friday night, so I couldn't do anything until Monday.
On Monday I called my GP practice and a doctor saw me. She referred me to the Breast Clinic. Someone was going to call me to give me an appointment. The wait was so hard. I still wanted to be optimistic. I had two cousins from my dad's side who have had benign tumours. It has still hard for me, and I tried my best to distract with my normal activities.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
