Well I was going to add to this daily but I got a bit confused how to do it ♀️
4/7/25 - had lumpectomy & sentinel node removal, (3 I think was a bit dopey when my lovely surgeon was explaining) arrived hospital 7.30am to theatre 11.15am, home in house having my tea 5pm all good.
5/7/25 - bit tired found sleeping on my back uncomfortable being a side sleeper but no pain , started exercising, no pain.
6/7/25 - feel really good today, no bruising which really surprised me, apart from on my hand where cannula was. Did exercises no problem.
7/7/25 - great sleep last night, woke up sleeping on my wound side, didn’t hurt had a shower, washed and blow dried my hair! So relieved I was able to do it ok, kept wound dry , kept arms below shoulder when drying hair, bit difficult but manageable. Still no pain, took pain
llers first 2 days haven’t needed them since. Still no bruising surgeon must have been soo good. I know everyone is different but I have been so lucky
so far. I’m now going to forget all about it until I see surgeon again 24/7/25 to hopefully hear cancer removed no further ops and radiotherapy will start. Feeling positive
9/7/25 Another shower and hair wash today! Lots of bruising has now come out but still no pain. Sleeping fine. Took car to shops this morning all good. It’s my right breast at the side so no problem with seat belt . Swelling not bad at all, I haven’t been wearing bra all the time, in fact prob only a few hours a day, but I don’t have big boobs so maybe that’s why it feels fine. Feel so lucky
10/7/25 another shower this morning then went to get my toes done (shellac) drove there and back, all good, feel so much better with bright toes ( instead of old ladies toes ha ha). Bruising mostly faded now, wee bit yellow but that’s all. Swelling almost gone, wee bit numb under arm and now and again I get wee sort of electric shock feelings, not sore, just surprising but think it’s nerves getting their feeling back. Exercises all good now doing my 10 of each a day move onto week 2 exercises tomorrow. I am using my arm as normal during the day tho, but keeping to in line with my shoulder. Haven’t taken waterproof dressing off yet? Think hospital says I could after 48 hours as the strips are waterproof anyway, but leaflet says leave on till next appointment, decisions decisions. Hope all the rest of you are getting on well
11/7/25 all good today apart from the wee nerves moving back into place which isn’t sore just sort of tingling. Did all my shopping today, sat out in the sun for a while but even too hot for me, can believe it Scotland is never like this. Going to have my first
tomorrow can’t wait.
14/7/25 well after 10 days of no pain I’m a bit sore today, not at the wound site but swelling under arm causing discomfort. Not too bad but I’ve taken painkillers today for the first time in 7 days. Think it’s just everything healing. No hardness, breast and swelling all soft, not hot so think it’s ok but annoying because I’ve been doing so well.
15/7/25 still a bit of discomfort today, I can still do all exercises without pain and it’s really only when I wear a bra it’s uncomfortable. I think the bra, which is post surgery is digging in a bit due to the swelling under my arm. I’m not complaining as this is the only problem I’ve had. Still sleeping well and comfortably.
