hi everyone, im new to the sight but think its great. i care for my daughter who has hogkin lymphoma, she has been on a 2week break, but its back to the hospital tomorrow for chemo, so ive got to be very strong for her as she always gets down and so upset, she feels like it starting all over again. she has found another lump so feels down just wish i had it instead of her, she is only just turned 20 its not fair.

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter, its so hard to watch a loved one go  through all this. You are right its not fair but ther is nothing to be done but get on with things hard as it is.

I hope everything goes well for her

    Love Teri

  • Hello, its my daughter who has this hated uninvited squatter in her life, too, its yuk! I said exactly the same as you, wished it had been me, not her, well, we do for our children, don't we?

But there are many treatments open to her, and trial treatments too, coming along. Our lass has been through a good deal, its 5 years on now, but she is VERY well, in spite of the fact that it has now spread to her spleen. she is being referred for a further trial very soon, we are waiting to hear about it.

I hope you have a really good consultant, its worth asking questions, and trying to get to a top hospital too, if you are in the north, the Christie in Manchester, or in the south, the Marsden or UCHL in London have the best reputations. Our lass is cared for by Professor Radford, at the Christie, she is grateful as he knows so much!

If you want we could be buddies, just ask!

    hi helen

thanks for that, i havent been on here for ages as my daughter hasnt been well.

the lump she found went after chemo thank god.

she goes to a cancer hospital and has a good oncologist, plus her nurse is brilliant, they are all very caring and take time to talk to her.

she is going for counsiling now as she still finds it hard to come to terms with, bless her.

she was supposed to have chemo on 8th july, she had a lump in her private area, her consultant examined her and said no to chemo, we got transfered to our local hospital, she had an absess so they operated that night, she was so scared, she didnt want a general but had no choice, she is still very sore but glad its not anything else.

the docs were saying they havent seen an abcsess so big in the 2days she had it thats why they operated, also it was to risky for her because of her condition.

anyway im sending my regards to your daughter hope everything goes ok for her.

omg it can be so hard, take care x
