TEXT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Less than one minute read time.

Thats me, text book, to the day exactly when the nurse said my hair would start to fall out it has started.  Have to say blubbed in the car on the way to picking my daughter up from her sleepover and then thought how silly its just hair it will grow back and there are far more important things for me to think about than losing my hair.  I surprised myself by feeling this way am usually, and have been strong so far on this journey!  Sitting here on this grey afternoon I can still see rays of sunshine and I know everything will be ok.  Just had to have a waffle on it always makes you feel better when you put things down in print.  This is why this site is so wonderful.

When the hair goes, it means I think for some, I have cancer and it is real, it confirms the start of a journey. I have shaved my hair all off in preparation for chemo and have got myself some great wigs, mind you I have my old ones still from the first time around. It is a roller-coaster ride of ups and downs my love, make the most of good days and it is ok to have down days, we all do. Good luck with your treatment, we are all with you.....love Carol x

Thank you ValS will defo keep waffling thats me!

Thanks Carol, got a couple of wigs and some scarves and hats.  Did think about shaving the remainder off but its so thin and short as you can see from the picture that will prob. leave it for now.  You are sooooo right having no hairs speaks volumes and says CANCER!!!! and as much as you get your head round it (ha ha ,no pun intended) thats confirmation isn't it?  Anyways onwards and upwards as they say.  Got a house full of family tomorrow which will be fab and only a few days til FEC no 2 yay, one more to tick off.  Thanks for your support, enjoy your weekend too!!! xxxxx  love Alex

  • I thought I had got away with it as just before my second chemo  I still had my hair. Then all of a sudden I ran my hands through my hair and it was coming out in handfulls. Bugger.

It reminds you that you have cancer when you look in the mirror so I used to avoid looking until I put my wig on.

As you say it will grow back and thicker usually and in lovely condition.

Best of luck with the rest of your treatment.
