Had a call from national blood service today to remind me of my appointment to donate my 68th pint next week, I had to tell them about to start chemo and could they put my file on hold for a while. I was really surprised and gutted when they told me I would no longer be able to give blood and "thank you for the last 19 years of donations".
Given everything we go through with BC, ops, chemo, radio, hormone therapy you'd think this wouldn't matter but it really did, I was hoping to make it to 100 pints and meet the queen for tea or something like that!!!
This journey has many twists and turns and guess just starting out so not sure whats round the next bend.
I do know that I will stay strong, I am going to get through this and come out the other end with the sun on my face and maybe not the wind in my hair (but on my head) I am going to do this and still be me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
