No more Needles

1 minute read time.
Hi guys....................I had a Hickman Line put in on Thursday because after 7 chemos the veins in my hands and arms have decided that when a needle goes anywhere near them, they tend to retreat into "You're not sticking that into me" land and they stay there. So now I have no more needles coming at me (Yipeeeeee!) I must say though, I do look ready for a part in Dr Who and I won't need to go to make up, with my stoma bag blowing up and going down at a rapid rate of knots, my operation scar going from my ribcage down to my boots, my balding lumpy head and now an unside down y hanging out my chest!.............I am still a ravishing beauty!!!!!! I actually have to laugh at myself and am thankfull that it is not summer and I am not on a nudist beach (if I was i would proberly there alone after I de robed myself) Well I have to go and phone my hospital to see if they have a bed for me so I can have my top up of fluids starting a midnight and chemo number 8 tomorrow, Take care and if I put a smile on your face I am glad. Hugs to all that need them.....Love The everchanging Kezzerbird............Carolxxxxx

what a funny blog!! I think we will have to ask for a cancerbackup nudist beach somewhere nice and hot where we can go to recouperate and compare war wounds. Maybe they would provide blindfolds too. Ah well onwards and upwards, your treatment trundles on and is closer to finishing. I hope the last few go easy on you hun and the Hickman line makes life easier for you. Keep on rocking - you will get through this before too long. Best wishes Jools x x x

I just wish there was something that I could do for you.  I think the somewhere to all go together would be a great idea (not sure about the nudist bit!) because the meet-ups we have already had have been so positive.  It's a shame that you are way down in the SW.  When you are on the mend, perhaps we can arrange a venue nearer to you - or whatabout a flotilla of What Now narrow boats on that canal of yours?

Sending you hugs, and hoping that the line does make life a little less uncomfortable for you.  LOADS OF LOVE XXXXXX Penny

Hi Carol - you certainly put a smile on my face, and long may you continue to have the gift of putting smiles on others faces. As long as you take your share of smiles and happiness.  I wouldn't say there's much would get you down, and keep you there. I could probably give you a bit of run for your money when it comes to the; "balding lumpy head", lol as for the rest, you're a proper wee champion and I wish you all the very best for the future, with lotsa love         kate
