Hi guys....................Saw Mike my Macmillian nurse today, he called in because he is on weekend duty and I haven't seen him for a couple of weeks.
His face was a picture when he saw me and he looked so pleased on how well I am doing.He asked me what I'd been up too and was chuffed when I told him that I have decorated the kitchen and the bathroom and had laid carpet tiles in my bedroom and I had been out a couple of times, amazing seeing only a few months ago I couldn't do very much!
Mike has been my rock throughout my illness, someone to talk to and encourage me to fight, he has been very honest with me and his advice has been great , He has been there through my good and bad times and there for my family also.
It is time now for Mike to back off with me but said if I need him, he will be there, even if I just need to talk. Mike knows that I am fully aware that my cancer could come back and he knows that I will deal with that if or when it happens.
The Macmillian nurses are brilliant and this is just me saying a big THANK YOU to them..................Love and hugs to those that want them..........Carol The knackered Kezzerbird X

Truly glad that you are knackered in the nicest possible way and that you have put Mike on the backburner, so to speak. Keep up the good work.
Ditto, its great being tired for a good reason isn't it, I'm impressed with the decorating and floor tiles.
I painted two fence panels and two bits of trellis, before hammering them onto the said fence panels - yes I know I should have used screws and not nails - but I couldn't cope with a screwdriver. Was shattered when I had finished and it took me twice as long, but I did it.
Our Macmillian Nurse Michelle has been our rock. Laurence has treatment in three different NHS Trusts and she is the central pin, the one constant thing through all this and if I have any worries about anything I know I can ring or email her and she will get back to me as soon as she can. I know I can ask her anything and she will not think the question or me are stupid and if she hasn't an answer for me then, she will go off, find an answer if there is one and get back to me.
As Laurence is totally PEG Fed for fluids as well as food, we also have a Macmillian Dietician Vannessa and she is the same.
These two ladies have made an earth shattering situation, a lot less stressful than it could be.
