kezzerbird.....In the words of Victor Meldrew!!!!

1 minute read time.

I DON'T BELIEVE IT....well today I should have gone to see Nigel my looney Oncologist but having not heard from the hospital driver I phoned the hospital and was told that they do not arrange transport anymore! Oh my mind reading skills are failing me!!!! I was told that I would have to find my own way down, well for me does that mean I have to walk 35 miles? I have no transport ( I have a large motor bike which I cannot ride because I am not strong enough to hold it up!!!) Not only am I collecting tumours for a past time and the only reason that I am still standing is because of my Morphine running 24/7, now I can't get to the hospital!!! I phoned my Mac nurse Mike about this and now it seems that I have to pay for transport but maybe able to get my money back, maybe! What a joke eh!!!! Nothing really has happened of late with me, I find that I am fighting tiredness and this bloody weather doesn't help, I think Cornwall has had the rest of the countries rain quota. Yesterday I took my crazy dog out for her walk or should I say, she took me for a walk!! the sun was shinning when I went out and just has I took to the end of my road it chucked it down, oh great but then a rainbow appeared and I haven't seen one of those for awhile. I am still getting the "Oh you look so well" from everyone I see, which drives me crazy, I wish I felt how I look but hey ho you can't have it all!!!!! Right guys I am going to have another bucket of tea and then try and get off my bum and do something before I fall asleep. Sending love and hugs to all my mates......Carol xxxx

Hi Carol,So glad to hear from you,it cheers me up no end just to read your witty coments, its unreal you have to pay for the travel, you would think they could come up with some taxi tokens or a free service of some sort,we are lucky,3 mins by car to our hospital I hope the sun shines soon, much love Chris .xx

  • Are there any charities around your way who offer transport? I drove for a local charity for twenty years and ferried folk to hospitals, chiropodists, and doctors. Might be worth asking at the Council offices or Help Shop.

Lovely to hear from you again and hope you get something sorted soon.

Hello Carol. Nice to see you back on the site again and I hope that you are still battling on. Regarding transport to the hospital, as KateG said, there are various services where volunteers will drive patients there and back for appointments. It's ludicrous that you have to pay for it ! Contact your local Council or Doctor's Surgery, etc as they must have something going for all those with no transport. Take care and all best wishes. Love, Joycee xx

    Hi Carol,

So good to hear from you and I hope you get free transport sorted as you shouldn't have to pay for it. Glad that your sense of humour is as sharp as ever, you are an inspiration to us all. I saw a beautiful rainbow last week and it really cheered me up.

              Take care,

                  Love and hugs,

    Hi Mate,

When I have to go for an appointment up to Crosshouse Hospital I phone my Drs surgery and they arrange transport there and back its about 20 miles, and no charge. If I can get it I dont understand why you cant, your more deserving. Living so far away from your Hospital.

Hope your keeping OK. Love to the kids and Monty.

Take care and be safe Big Hugs Love Jackie Angie and Megs.xxx
