Less than one minute read time.

hey all

well mum got a phonecall from the hospital today which was going to arrange a pet scan for her after the news the other day, and to let her know what treatment the docs were planning for her now after their meeting today.

however.....mum came off the phone and burst into tears saying "they think i might not need anymore chemo".. turns out they THINK the area they are seeing on her recent scan is scar tissue and not active lymphoma, most of the consultants had agreed. so they are putting it to a meeting next tuesday at the beatson hospital in glasgow with all the experts and if they are satisfied then mum may not need anymore chemo and things are looking up.

she may need some radiotherapy but this is the least of her worries to be honest. it all depends what they say on tuesday.

her blood count had shot up since last week again and shes feeling a bit stronger.

hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel for my mum after all...will let u all know next week

much love to all of you

Ohhh fingers crossed for you and your Mum that chemo has done its job whoo hoooo !!! I bet the tears from your Mum were relief bless her - so nice to get such positive news earlier than you were expecting. My Dad had NHL and he had no response to chemo at the halfway point but after 6 cycles was left with a small area which he had Radiotherapy to - it all cleared up after that and he remains in remission.

Hope it is the same for your MUm. Good luck and keep blogging so we can keep up to date, Love Jools xxx

  • as another NHL patient its so good to hear news like this, hope your mum's results are good.

Jools its also good to hear about others that have journeyed through the tunnel and have come out into the day light at the other end.

best wishes to all long may remission reign.
