in the last 3 years my family has had to tolerate the following. My mom has had thyroid cancer, my sister has had ovarian cancer, my wife has had breast cancer twice, my father in law has bowel cancer and now I have been told I have cancer of the esophogus... is there something someone is not telling me? are we just greedy? why us? It ssems that no matter how healthy we live our lives it keeps coming back and attacking another member of our family. Is this a joke??

I am so sorry to hear how much you and your family have been suffering and now after all that you have to deal with another blow yourself. I know that to be positive in your case is probably really difficult but you have to try because you have a long, hard journey ahead and will need all your energy to get better. I hope the rest of your family have managed to cope with their illnesses and will now be able to offer you the love and support I am sure you gave them. We have been overwhelmed by peoples love and kindness. You say your op is in three weeks time - my husband is going in on Monday (if they have a bed!!!) and I will try and post how he is doing to let you know if I possibly can.
