WHAT GOOD NEWS - WANTED TO SHARE!!

1 minute read time.
Hi everyone - as a lot of you know, I went to see my oncologist today to receive the results of my PET/CT scan - and whoopee!! I got good news with the results! They couldn't see anything on my scan - not the original tumour, or the wee rougues who are believed to have travelled elsewhere. They were all telling me how well I looked, and all I could see looking at me were doctors with BEAMING BIG SMILES. Their plan of action is for me to have my 4th and final chemotherapy session on 3rd September, then they are going to give me the prophylactic thingymebob to the head - precautionary. I did ask why they were not giving me radiotheraoy to the lung area, and was told because there's nothing there to ZAP! I had prayed and prayed, and kept myself so upbeat, hoping and wishing for a bit of good news for a change. I slipped in a touch of "be realistic" along with all my prayers and wishes - I thought: "even if I have to receive bad news, please don't dash all of my wee hopes against the wall". Not a lot to ask eh? I know the type of cancer I have is notoriously aggressive and I still have a huge battle left to fight, but fight it I will! For now, my face holds a beaming smile of it's own, and my heart feels a tad lighter. So, Bournemouth here we come - Mick and I have booked ourselves into a hotel from 13th September for a week, and never, ever have we looked forward to something with such relish. My wish for all of you is for you to feel well, be with someone you love, and to stay safe and warm. I send you all love from kate xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
