Red herring PET scan?

1 minute read time.
Hi everyone - I had a bone scan done a couple of weeks ago, and not long after having it done, I spoke with the cancer care nurse at Bart's hospital where I go for chemotherapy. She told me that the bone scan showed "no conclusive evidence" of cancer activity. Phew! It felt great knowing that cancer was NOT eating away at my bones as I walked around. What does that mean, I asked her? She said it was either; the chemotherapy had shrunk the cancer, or that the original PET scan was a "red herring"!!?! She said the "spot" they had found on my liver could be a cyst, and not cancerous. God, it's so confusing! It's like this rotten disease keeps throwing things at you and you have to stay on your toes. We hope with one part of our brain that what we are hearing is true, then we take a reality count and sometimes it feels like all our hopes have been sucked out of us. Well, I won't bang on any more, just wanted to share this news with you and to see if anyone else had undergone the same experience re: bone scan results. Hope you are all well, and with someone you love. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
