Can anyone help?

Less than one minute read time.

Hello there!

I am new to all of this so bear with me!! I have finished my course of radiotherapy and am coping with the side effects but can anyone help with how to prevent my skin breaking down as under my bust is sooooooooooooooo red and sore now!

    Hi kat1

I had the same problem but the Aquaeous cream I used all throughout the radiation eventually cleared up that sorenes too.  In fact I often had a rash under the boobs before I was diagnosed but I haven't had it since I used the cream.

As I understand it,  going without a bra when you are alone and letting the air circulate is also helpful - in which case you would use the cream when you get dressed again.

No doubt others will be along with different ideas in due course.

my radiotherapy was to my head and I used Aquaeous cream from day one (even when I still had hair) and never got any redness or soreness throughout the 33 sessions.

Can the R/Therapists not offer any advice??

    Hi Kat

I've just finished RT too, and my skin is pink but holding up, aprat from one little area in a crease under my arm.  I used e45, which keeps its moisturised, but my consultant said if it cracked or itched she would prescribe some steroid cream.

I wear my bra and prosthetic as little as possible so nothing rubs.

Maybe have a word with your Mac nurse.
