tired today

1 minute read time.
Well after a long day at appontments i feel a little clearer in my mind about whats going on. My right kidney with the tumour is defo coming out on Tuesday, but the surgeon doesnt know what way yet as he will only be able to tell when he starts the op,he isnt sure he will be able to remove it keyhole as i have done peritoneal dialysis before and have also had peritonitis which leaves scarring,so im not going to know what kind of surgery i have till they wake me after the op. I thought i was getting both kidneys out but he thinks its too big an op to do at the one time so is keep to have me back in 6-12 weeks after this surgery to have the left one removed. That was a bit of a shock as i wanted it all done at once and get it over and done with, but hey he is the expert. He is pretty sure the cancer hasnt spread so thats great news, but as ever the threat is still going to be there with the drugs im on to keep my transplant ticking over. We sneaked off to lunch today in our local weatherspoons which was lovely but after stepping on the scales in clinic i think i have to properly address my weight issuses and fitness levels when i start to recover.I think at the moment we are both seeing food as our treat but as im female its going straight to my hips where my BF just looks the bloody same! Mums back from holidays tomorrow, thank god,im tired of running up and down to hers now to feed the cats, but i guess after all she does for me its just a small thing to do for her. Less than a week to go till the op now xx

I have gained so much weight since January Leigh.......and its because I am forever saying "I deserve that cream tea/biscuit/cake/giant chocolate buttons LOL

Which I do.....but add in the side-effects of steroids and I am not liking what I see in the mirror (let alone the baldy patch on my head and dip from the brain surgery).

I have decided that once the oral chemo has finished I AM GETTING FIT....not sure how but I really want to.

So maybe we can support each other.

Good luck with the upcoming surgery/ies and would ya gimme a chance on scrabble LOL

    Hiya Leigh

Sounds like good news but i know what you mean about getting it over in one op, but yes ya right they do know best dont they,

Im suffering still with this bloody peg thing, had my second radio today 2 down 28 to go lol seems like ages til 5th October but when ya waiting for something go pass it does doesnt it????  5 more chemo sessions, that sounds better !!!!

The peg is sore, still weeping puss, they say it isnt infected, but that so far is the worst bit of this treatment, i wouldnt care its only in as a precaution in case the radio gets so bad in my throat i cant swallow, i better had use the damn thing!  I look 6 months gone, nothing wrong with that but im 47 and no partner LOL so im defo not happy with this!

Anyway you take care and i l watch out for your update on how things are going, take care and am thinking of you.

    Hi Leigh,

Just a quick line to make sure you are doing as many fun things pre op as possible - even if it is early leaf kicking or dancing in the rain. Make sure you cram in lots of gossip, a girly night and wine too if at all possible, that way you don't spend too much time thinking about the surgery and you get to have a ball.

    Sending you good thoughts

    T xx
