MRI Results...sort of!

2 minute read time.
Well i waited about all morning for 1pm when id be able to phone the liason nurse to find out my MRI results.I did tidy the house,i got my ass kicked by Debs on facebook at scrabble and i wasted £50 on online bingo (im very ashamed to admit that) then it was time to phone and it was bloody engaged for ages,i finally got through to be told that my nurse was now on holiday and she would be able to give me the results, she said that i have a lesion on my left old kidney but wasnt able to tell me if it was cancer...eh?? She said the surgeon was keen to try and take both old kidneys and the bit vein that needs to go through keyhole if i ok'd it,which obviously i will do (do they get it all this way?) I asked her about the fluid on my lungs and what she thought that was,she said she couldnt remember what was said and to phone her back tomorrow same time after she had checked with surgeon??!! I had my own gp in the afternoon and she was really great, she said i should ask to speak to my consultant before my op as i have the right to,she said that sometimes in the NHS's rush to get people seen the forget to actually keep patients informed, she made no promises about my transplanted kidney but told me i was in the best hands,i showed her a bit thats appeared on my foot and she agreed it was suspisious and wanted it removed, but as i only had a week and a half to surgery she is going to ask my surgeon to whip that off too,if not its off to the skin clinic for me. To be honest i was pissed off at my familys reaction to the news i got from my mri, they all thought it was great news that i was having it done keyhole (hopefully) but didnt see that i was doubly worried that i had lesions on my other kidney (is it spreading?) and that i now had a wee blip on my foot.Maybe its just me eh! Anyway at night my mum, sister, daughter and myslef all went to see my brothers new house, and met his new girlfriend then went for a girly dinner(haggis, mashed tatties, sweed, then apple crumble and cream!) and took great delight slagging him off behind his back about the age diffrence, she is 21 he is 32,saying things like, will she be alound out after dark on school nights ect ect.Got home to Logan(10) moaning his head off as i had gone out when he was at boxing and how dare i...the cheek of it! Anyway, not phoning the nurse to be mucked about, going to phone my consulants secretary to see if i can see him before my op on the 1st Sep if possible. Hope the sun is shining where you are and you all have a good day xx

Unfortunately it is the system it works wonders sometimes, but really lets patients down badly also. I would agree with Liz the consultants secretary is your best bet she can liase with him/her, explain how you feel let down and NEED to know the results to make you feel informed. Best Wishes Ruthxx

PS Im making an plum crumble today!

Im so sorry i didnt mean to offend anyone by teasing the age diff between my brother and his new girlfriend,i really just meant that it lightened our dinner by having a laugh about someone else in our family and that the mood wasnt low because of my illness.

Absolutely no offence taken at all Leigh. It made me chuckle as I wondered whether people were saying those things when Kev and I got together!
