Well that was a night I don't fancy again too soon. All was going well, I managed to stay up with my hubby and watched a movie together. I found eating and drinking hard as loss of taste, just made things hard to swallow, I actually had to force food down. I really really wish I hadn't!!! 3am came with the most excruciating reflux/indigestion I have every had, it was as if I has swallowed fire and the burning pain started to worry me. I got up and went downstairs grabbed some Gavisgon tablets, threw 2 in my mouth and climbed back in bed, putting pillows behind my head so I was in a upright sitting position. After what seemed like ages, it started to ease off, unfortunately I didn't manage to do all this without disturbing my sleeping husband. I did manage to stay in bed until just after 8.30, because I was so determined to stay in bed longer than my husband atleast once since I started chemo back in the beginning of January.
My head has been a bit sore the last couple of days and although I have hadvit cut really short, hair is sticking to clothing, furniture, my tablet screen, and anything that gets in the way of the rapidly falling hair.
I had a quiet morning while hubby went to play bowls. I did wash my hair/head this morning and now I have a towel that's nearlty got more hair on it than my head has now
Had a nice bowl of soup and bread tonight then it was off to Home bargains to by something for my hair. I have been looking forward to going to the shop all afternoon, but waitied until it would be quieter. Armed with my shopping list we entered the store. Liquid gavisgon, tick, lint rollers big tick, after getting a few other bits and bobs, we went home. As soon as we got through the door I immediately opened the lint roller and rolled it all over my head, it felt so good seeing how much hair was plastered on the sheet, 2 sheets later, was time to shower all the rest of the loose hair off. It's surprising how the hair gets everywhere from your outer clothes to your underwear and lastly sticks to your skin.
I took some liquid antacid, and curled up to another movie, I didn't fall asleep which is a miracle
Its been quite difficult to get comfy as my head feels like it's got tiny pins sticking in all over, I hope it's not going to take too many more days for the rest of my hair to fall out. Maybe I should go and stand outside in the wind, except its too bloody cold.
Think I'm going to take some more yuck antacid stuff before bed, hopefully I don't get a repeat of lastnight.
Will try the silk pillowcase tonight too, and see if it helps my head a bit.
Sleep well xx
