Thursday 11th January day 8 after first EC

3 minute read time.

Well I had a really good night, only waking to the call of nature but I managed to get back off to sleep quite easily I eventually woke up at about six and just laid waiting for my husband to make me a cup of tea. Which he did around 7.30am.

I noticed my picc had a little more blood near entry site, so after I got up and dressed, we took another photo and I left a message on the chemo line, just incase I had to get it looked at. They got back to me very quickly which was great, but after speaking to them they seemed satisfied that all was OK. I do have an appointment for follow-up with Oncologist tomorrow afternoon anyway, so may mention to her if it's any worse tomorrow.

I'm so glad they rang back quick as hubby had to go out to a bowls match and he looked like he wasn't going to go. I had to reasure him that if I had any problems I would let him know. He said he couldn't stop worrying about me yesterday, but I said I'm fine. He only plays bowls twice a week, but they are consecutive days. The great thing is one of those days coincides with my Chemo day, so don't have to worry about him just hanging around waiting for me.

It's my mums birthday today, so I rang her and sang happy birthday to her which she loved. We visited yesterday and my brother is going to them today. After she opened her card she rang me back and thanked me for her lovely card, she said it made her cry Cry in her saying this to me, I  started blubbing too, we had another nice chat and neither of us were crying afterwards. I didn't think the words in the card were sad. But I will take another look next time, I visit.

Still no achy bones or joints after the 5th Filgrastim injection, no sickness or anything. Hair still inplace if a little flat looking but I am not cold capping.

I  have done some washing today but am using the dryer which is a shame as its such a beautiful day here again. Hopefully we can go for a easy walk while the sun still shines. I live in a tiny town (1 shop only) that has beautiful views, but the best ones mean walking up steep lanes and I'm not up to that just yet.  If the weather stays like this we might try a drive and do a canal walk soon and take a flask and hot chocolate with us.

I  asked on TNBC FB group today if I'm the only one without side effects on my first round of EC and someone said you can't be on it if I haven't got anything. I told them I am. I've come to the conclusion that lots of times people only post the negative side of everything, and maybe if you think your gonna have it all you will. I must admit I stocked up on all sorts of anti sickness, paracetamol, laxatives etc, only took 2 of the later.

I'm not looking forward to the Pax though, thats manliy because a lady I have friended in a different BC group had her first chemo yesterday and shes only having Pax, but had really bad allergic reaion, she told me this morning she thought she was going to die, they lowered dose and tried again but the same thing happened. Now they are going to change something or other about it so hopefully it won't do the same again.Fingers crossed

I'm going to make the most of the rest of today, get dinner ready, go for a walk. i'm going to get hubby to help me sort things so I can have a nice shower and wash my hair, might get him to dry it too Rofl

Hope everyone's doing as well as they can.and as my shitty titty book quote says "Together we can face any challenges as deep as the ocean and as high as the sky" (Sonia Gangi)
