I didn't get up until 8am today. So obviously had a better night's sleep. I had a couple cups of tea to make sure I was hydrated.
The district nurse turned up about 10.30 to change my picc dressing and take my bloods. It was a different nurse again today, and she had a student nurse with her too. They were both very nice, and she was concerned about the fact I have been getting problems with some of the dressings. I showed them the photos of the blisteres that I have had. I did say that one of the other nurses said maybe the dressing had gone on before area was properly dry or it could be the chloroprep, and she agreed either might be the cause. I gave her the barrier stuff that the last nurse ordered from my Gp but this nurse was reluctant to use is, saying that it would make the dressing stick even more. The nurse decided to clean my arm with I think it was some sort of steri wipes. She cleaned everything, did the flush took bloods and reflushed before replacing the dressing thus giving it a good time to dry. She asked how many chemo I had left if my skin was ok etc etc. Then asked again about me driving 10 mile to get my picc sorted at their clinic at a hospital, not the one I have my Chemo at. I informed her I haven't driven since starting chemo as when I go for a walk I get a fussy head like I have been drinking so no way was I confident driving. She did say its not a good idea to sit in a busy waiting room though. I really can't understand why they keep pressing for me to drive to their clinic when they see 3 or 4 other people within a mile of where I live. I did say I might look OK today but next week I could be totally different as last Monday I was really zonked.
Hubby took me over to see my parents for a while this afternoon and we took them for a little walk, a of about 500 yards, it was good to see my dad outside.
Bought a huge steak on the way home ready for valentines day. I might make a nice dessert, or maybe some Chelsea buns, no alcohol though I think Paul can cook the dinner though as my present as he's got the best present having me as his wife .
