Hello there
I am sorry to say that my lovely dad as just been diagnosed with advanced prostrate cancer. I am devastated and shocked at how quickly he has gone from being my active 73 year old dad who helps everybody to some one who is and looks so weary and tired and is having mobility problems especially concerning his right hip and groin. His PSA score was 81 and his prostrate biopsy has come back with a Gleeson scale of 8 (5 right and 3 left). He has been started on hormone therapy, antibiotics and pain killers and today had a bone scan and has an MRI booked for tomorrow. We are due to see the consultant in 2 weeks for the results of these latest tests. The consultant as told dad that he can't cure the cancer but he can hopefully manage this disease.
I am shocked and frightened and am finding that i want to spend as much time with my mum and dad as i can because i am so scared of the outcome of this disease. When i am with my mum and dad i can be strong for them but when i am on my own i keep breaking down!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
