That was a question I specifically asked the Onc - her reply was in her professional opinion the five years start from the point of diagnosis.  So for us that was 24th August 2007 = 24th August 2012.

My oncologist said I had a "high risk of return in the first two years" which would then decline in risk as years went by

 I specifically asked him when the two years count started, thinking I was more than 1/2 way through it by the end of my treatment! BUT NO!  For what he was telling me about  he said that he meant from the end of treatment ,,

Sadly he was right, and it was back at the scan two years from end of treatment :(
