Joint Pain

Less than one minute read time.
I take a wide variety of medications but over the past two days I have had the worst joint pain in my knees when I wake up. Not so bad that I can't walk but bad enough that it keeps me awake. Anyone else have this or know what could be causing it? JD x

Hi JD - I don't know if this is of any help to you, but for the past couple of weeks I have been having the most awful pains in my shoulder joints (I know there's a fair difference between knees and shoulders), but I think the important thing here is probably joints. I was given 100mg of DICLOFENAC tablets, which seem to target the pain pretty good - my consultant told me I could take one in the morning and one in the evening - which was a lifesaver as it helped me sleep all through the night. I think it's par for the course with this bloody disease that we get these terrible pains in our bones, as I've heard countless people talking of it. I hope it's not long until you're "pain free", with love       kate xxxxxxxx

I seem to remember from your last post that you're having Radiotherapy at the moment. I wonder how far in you are. I had Radiotherapy on my left thigh and had really bad joint pain during weeks 2-4 of a 6 week treatment. I wasn't on any meds other than Paracetemol.

Now, I'm certainly no medical professional but believe that joint pain can be a side effect of treatment and not necessarily confined to the site of the treatment.

The best thing obviously is to let your Radiographers/Oncologist know of any side effects you're having, no matter how trivial they may seem.

    Hope this help.

    Peace
