Welfare Meeting

1 minute read time.

Went to welfare meeting today, really nervous and wound up but had all my information and equality act stuff as a comfort blanket ... rep not in meeting with me so was feeling a bit uneasy.

Anyway was seeing my managers boss, I did have a couple of wobbles (OK maybe a dozen wobbles) but in the end it seems quite positive.  We talked through the difficulties that I am having and the adjustments that I have asked for, the letter I sent in really seems to have helped with this.  They have still not been able to get anyone for the other half of my job so couldn't give me permanent half time hours in my own job.  He has acknowledged the difficulties I am having though and has offered me an alternative post which is vacant at the moment. This is nearer to home, will be permanent part time and the same hours each week and will be on the same grade so no extra money worries.

Really pleased with proposals and hope that when the report comes through this is confirmed as feels like a weight has started to lift from my shoulders already.   Should be sorted before my next appointment with the consultant in January so will be able to concentrate on what matters ... staying in remission.

Looking forward to Christmas now and hopefully the new year will be a new start.

Many many thanks to everyone for all your support and advice.
