Just got back from my consultant appointment, have been told that there is still a large mass in my chest but that it has reduced in size and is responding as they expected. Also the fluid around my heart and lung has gone and everything still in my chest and not gone anywhere else - yey! Am now back to needing 8 cycles of chemo and will have number 5 next week. White blood count was low so have to inject myself over next couple of days with lenograstim to get them back up in time for chemo on Tuesday, shown how to administer at clinic today. Am now sat waiting to see if any pain, was told it might cause ache/pain in lower back, chest and legs but as with everything else people react differently so will have to wait and see. Have been told that I will need to have radiotherapy after last chemo and will need to go to Leeds for this - will be 5 days a week for 4 weeks.

    Hi Jozzy

Great to hear things are progressing as expected and that the tumour has reduced in size and there's no sign of anything elsewhere.  You must be very relieved.

I had exactly the same NHL as you, though mine was localised inside my nose - can't quite believe where these horrible things pop up!  I only had to have 3 R-CHOP (although I also had 2 cycles of high dose Methotrexate to prevent it going to my brain) as the lymphoma was stage 1, so didn't have a problem with low blood count, but the good news is that my scan in December showed no sign of lymphoma, so stay positive as the little devils can be anhililated!!

I also had radiotherapy (3 rather than 4 weeks) every day, but didn't find that too bad, struggled much more with the chemo.  Its tiring travelling every day but my chemo nurse suggested I rested after every session even if I didn't feel tired, and I got through it all with minimal problems.

    Good luck with it all.

    Annie
