Radiotherapy Finished

Less than one minute read time.
Had my last radiotherapy on Monday, couldn't quite believe I'd got through it, seemed to be such a long haul in front of me, then seemed like the normal thing to be doing, then done. Glad it's over and got to bring the mask home as kind of a grim souvenir ... might bring it out at halloween lol! Really thankful to staff at Jimmys, they have been great and really looked after me when I had breathing problems. Had check up on Wednesday and all OK, getting weaned back off the steroids now so hopefully a good nights sleep before long, now on 1/4 dose and should be off them by next week. Back again in 2 weeks for check up because of breathing problems, feel OK now but they want to see me as precaution, and then on to routine 6 week check up. Feels good that things have moved on again.

Hi Jozzy, Congratulations on finishing your radiotherapy one session at a time.  Each hurdle overcome is worth a celebration. My son has also undergone chemo and radiation and we're also looking forward to the end of his treatments as the year winds down.

May all your routine check-ups on PET and CT come out clear and NED.

All the best to you and your family.

Well done you. It must be a great feeling having come to the end of your treatment. I'm just at the start of chemo and it does feel like an eternity to the end (5 months) but reading blogs it seems that the time goes quite quickly, thank goodness. Wishing you all the very best with results, follow ups and a normal life!
