Got my scan results on 23rd December, consultant pleased with progress, radiotherapy has caused 'abnormality' to shrink again since scan in May and because May PET scan was clear he says this is just scar tissue. Said it is normal to have this because initial lymphoma was so big and would be more unusual for it to go altogether so no active lymphoma ... yey!
Discussed my current breathing difficulties and there are lots of things that could be contributing to this. I have a elevated diaphram on left side (said probably due to nerve damage from chemo), permanent compression on left lung (caused by original mass stopping lung expanding properly), slight fluid still lingering on left lung, possible late side effect of radiotherapy or even due to being busier/more active by going back to work. Said all these toghether could be cause but can't say if it will stay at this, improve or get worse. Checked through other symptoms, still getting night sweats but not as bad as before and as I've still not had a period these could be menopause sweats ... just to confuse things lol! Also mentioned tiredness especially in the afternoons as my manager wants me to do full days, knew answer really and its just that it will take as long as it takes. Am going back again in 6 weeks so they can keep an eye on breathing and other symptoms, hoping breathing is improving by then.
Have had another chat with my manager about getting up to 18.5 hours and she has agreed that I can do mornings for the first 2 weeks in January but has said she wants to keep changing it and building it up to longer days so can't have a written plan. They don't think they will get anyone to apply for a job that is all afternoons so they want me to change my job share application to 2 1/2 days either front end or back end of week. Wants me to let her know next week but have an appointment with occupational health on 5th January so going to try and stall until I've seen them. Am scheduled to work on 29th December for Christmas cover but she's got me down for the whole day, I mentioned this but have still to try for the full day but give her a ring if it gets too much ...
Have had a really good Christmas this year ... have been so greedy though ... can't blame the steroids this time :-)
