The complications during grandmas thoroscopy turned out to be a massive aortic anurism which stopped them from going any further, they did get 1 1/2 litres of fluid out of her though which has made her feet and ankles go back to normal. Yesterday they put a stent in the vein that the tumor was pressing on to try and release fluid from her face and neck, going to see her today so hope it's done the trick.
She is starting to get really fed up with being in hopital and although I know the feeling it's worse for her because she doesn't use the gadgets and gizmo's that I had to pass the time and is so breathless she can get up and mooch around. There is a TV on the ward but it is always off because more of the patients in there want it quiet, we did try a portable DVD player for her to try but it was too complicated for her and the screen too small for her to see properly. Have brought in magazines, puzzles and books but due to poor eyesight these haven't been much help either. She is so bored ... am going to see if I can get hold of a portable cd/radio and maybe a talking book to try but would welcome any other ideas.
