Can't thank staff at St James Hospital enough, from being in a lot of pain when breathing over the weekend I am now almost pain free :-)
Went for my radiotherapy treatment on Monday and told them how I had fared over the weekend and they sorted out a doctor straight away who prescribed me dexamethasone for 3 days so that I have treatment until my next clinic appointment. Took one when I got home and another this morning along with the co-codomols I was already taking and the improvement is unbeleivable ... I am so thankful.
Was told its a side effect of the radiotherapy due to the treatment area (mediastinum and lung) but it doesn't happen to everyone, and if it does its normally at the end of the 2nd week, trust me to go early lol! They also did chest x-ray just to make sure nothing else wrong and will review and sort meds again at clinic tomorrow ... so thorough.
Anyway feels good that pain has almost gone and not bothering me at all so back on count down ... will be half way through after tomorrows treatment :-)
Pleased you got your pain sorted and half way there, not long now, simple little goals that ease the drudgery of treatment, it passes so quickly when we do that.
