Back to Occy Health ...

2 minute read time.

My new appointment with Occupational Health has come through for next Thursday, to see how I've got on so far and to answer more questions that my manager has about my ability to cope.  They had said they would be asking for a report from my doctor and consultant but don't think that's been done as I signed that I wanted to see any report before it was sent and I've not heard anything.  Went to see my union rep on Friday, was just a bit worried as manager is now asking if I am capable of working full time.  All is OK though as he said that council wouldn't make me go back to full time either way so a bit more relaxed about the appointment now.

Have built up to 18.5 hours now doing all mornings.  My manager and HR have said they don't think they will be able to recruit a jobshare partner for me on all afternoons so I have changed my application to all day Monday and Tuesday and morning only on Wednesday so that it will be easier for them to get someone.  It will take about 3 months to go through the recruitment process ... it always takes ages ... so that's how long I have to build up to that working pattern ... hope I can do it.  This week I'm going to be in every day but doing 3 mornings and 2 afternoons.  I usually start drooping at about 3pm so working until 5 will be difficult but maybe once I've done it a few times it will get easier.

Hair is driving me mad, has grown in very thick and curly apart from at the temples and its itching like crazy.  Keep losing hair from temples and they are looking very sparse at minute ... wondering if this is more to do with absent periods and possible menopause than anything else.  Have got some oilatum shampoo so hoping thats going to help the itching, scalp doesn't look flaky or anything but got to do something ......

Breathing still not right and having to use inhaler 4 - 5 times a day but does seem a little easier than a couple of weeks ago so hoping its going to carry on getting better.  Had been following exercise programme with GP instructer at gym and was doing really well until I went back to work when I couldn't go as often (some weeks not at all) so that might have contributed to the set back but have managed to go twice over last 2 weeks, its been hard but I need to do it.

Grandma has picked up again this week and now snow and ice has gone has been able to get out of the house again, has to use wheelchair and take portable oxygen but good to get away from same 4 walls.  She went to see her concultant last week and was given aspirin to take every day because of the heart attack but it made her really sick so doc has taken her off it again.  Consultant hasn't told her anything else, when I went to see her yesterday she told me she still didn't know anything and just has to go back for another appointment in 3 months time.
