Reason for blog

Less than one minute read time.
Following a biopsy on my left tonsil it was confirmed yesterday (24 Nov 2020) there is a cancerous tumour that needs eradicating.

It is treatable and I’ve been assured the treatment is to remove it completely and prevent reoccurrence.

However, the treatment is going to be quite brutal. I will need to visit the oncology centre every weekday for 7 weeks for radiotherapy, plus as a Black Friday deal they’re going to chip in some chemo for free.

I don’t intend to give up work completely as I would only get bored.

Then there is potentially 12 weeks of recovery. As it’s around my throat area I’m to expect difficulty eating & drinking plus a whole load of other side effects. Hair loss isn’t going to be one .

Luckily I have such brilliant & loving support from my wife Alison and we both know we can rely on yours too.

Feel free to pass this on to anyone. Expect some weight loss when we meet up again in Spring 2021 once we’ve beaten this.
