Upon recent completion of my GCSE's and in the current economic climate there being not much chance of getting a summer job I was looking for a challenge. I am a keen golfer and when I heard of the Longest Day Golf Challenge through Facebook I decided to give it a go.
I approached three more experienced and better golfers than I who agreed to join with me to form the "Kirkistown Quad" team. We are all members of Kirkistown Castle Golf Club. It was initially the Golf Challenge that appealed to me but when I realised that I could undertake it and raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support at the same time that really appealed. My Granny died having had cancer 5 years ago and my father was diagnosed with cancer almost two years ago so I am delighted to have the opportunity raise funds in my Grandmothers memory.
I set up a just giving a/c http://www.justgiving.com/jackhealy a facebook fundraising awareness page https://www.facebook.com/JacksFundraisingPage So far I have raised 15% of my target in donations and have had 76 likes on Facebook in less than 24 hours. Please visit and like my Facebook page and perhaps consider donating to Macmillan Cancer Support at my Just Giving page. All donations are hugely appreciated and Facebook likes increase awareness.
I will keep you posted throughout the summer. Thats it for now, Cheers!
