Hi all, Had a wonderfull 'cancer free' holiday in Mexico and came back unscathed, good job as the only insurance I could get was £3000.00 for a week as it was only a month since I finished my chemo/radiotherapy.
Sitting on the plane for 10 hours with a post radio bum was uncomfortable, but there were spare seats so I managed a lie down!!!
I also wore my operating socks from when I had my op just to be on the safe side!!!
Side effects have largely gone now appart from numb and wrinkled fingers, like when you have been in the bath too long.
Had my post radio scan today with that radio active stuff that makes you feel like you have weed on the bed!!!
Get my results on 6th November, so will keep you updated.

Hi Jo, a number of site members have had sucess getting insurance from a company called Miaonline - they will insure you to fly for under £100 if you have a letter from your specialist stating that you are fit to travel and the same statement is made in your medical records. Too late for you this time I know - but next time......... In March this year I went to Florida and paid over £2,000 for insurance so I wish that I had known about Miaonline too - but I just had 5 days in Brussels, insured for under £40 - and I am on chemo and 'Terminal' !!! At least you can recoup some of your money next time! Hope the holiday did the trick and seeing the sun cheered you up - now its back to freezing October in the UK brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Keeping fingers crossed for your scan results, Love Jools x x
Hi Jo - I'm go glad to hear you had such a wonderful "cancer free" holiday. We have to grab these passing moments and hitch a lift on 'em, don't we? You must be full of wonderful memories of things you've done and places you've seen. Keep all the happy moments to the front of your brain and call on them when the 6th November comes around, then pull out all the magical moments from Mexico, and you can face anything then, can't you.
