Got a date - sort of

Less than one minute read time.

I think I chose the wrong time of year to be diagnosed. Because the surgeon has been on holiday for two weeks, he has a backlog, and the list which I should have been on - 30th July is short of an anaesthetist. So the surgeons secretary (lovely and helpful, I have to say) says it might still be done then, but more likely on August 9th. But on the other hand the surgeon is trying to get some more lists, so it might be earlier.

It's now five weeks since I was diagnosed, and I must say that despite the hospital being reassuring, I don't like all this time that's passing.

But what can I do? Er. Nothing. Put on a happy face :0) Pizza for tea, with red wine, followed by summer pusdding and cream - that looks quite good. I can put another coat of paint on the new squirrel feeder I've made. Yup I'm not short of displacement activities ....

Thanks everyone - you make a real difference. I don't think they are covering up in this case - I had a long chat with the surgeon's secretary who explained how they made the lists, how frequent they were, how they were trying to get extra lists to clear the backlog and so on.

Anyway my tomcat has assured me that it's all going to work out fine - he's examined the original site of the melanoma and says he can't see any more cancer there, and he should know, he can spot a woodmouse at 300 yards :0)

    Hi Jim,

Was it Mr Peach's secretary Michelle you spoke to? If so you have found out she is really helpful - and if she says Mr Peach is trying to get some more lists then he will try his damned hardest - he has made promises & kept them for me in the past so hopefully you will be sorted out on the 30th!

Meanwhile don't paint the squirrel feeder with red wine & drink the paint by mistake - otherwise you will be in hospital quicker than you anticipated!

    Good luck with the surgery,

    Love Angie x
