Holidays

Less than one minute read time.
Hello I have been given £600.00 from the RCN benvolent fund to spend on a holiday for me and someone else to spend 3 days away, Does anyone have any nice ideas what and where i could go?? It has been suggested 'Albany lodge' in bournmouth run by or owned by Macmillan nurses with thames valley hospice, has anyone been there for a break?? Thanks Jilly x

    well, I don't really have any suggestions except make it somewhere you'll really be pampered. Just want to say, how absolutely lovely and I hope you have a really good time.  all my best wishes to you, marly

    Hey Jilly iv just googled Albany Lodge it looks really nice! Apparently you have to have a referral from either your gp or oncologist.

    I think i might look into it aswell as i would love a holiday away with my partner but am a bit worried about what would i do if he was ill but there they have nursing staff and although they dont offer hands on nursing care theres always someone there for support just in case! Sounds good to me!

    How lovely, I too had a look at Albany Lodge on-line and it does look really nice.  I know other patients have had breaks at Centre Parcs so it really depends on how you are feeling and how much support you need.

    I also searched holiday breaks for cancer patients Uk as I would like a break this summer as well and the University Hospitals of Leicester website came up with a whole list of places, see the link below:
