heartburn sickness & headaches!

Less than one minute read time.
Hi, I am being treated for grade 4 kidney cancer, and have been on Avastin and interferon injections, I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who is having the same treatment, and does anyone know what would be helpful to combat these awful side effects i seem to be having, headaches bloatedness, sickness, nothing i seem to take is getting rid of the headaches or heartburn! At least the lymphs in my neck appear to be shrinking!

Hi Jillyanna. Cannot help you hon but was interested in your blog. I have  or should i say had kidney cancer but all is good. They found a 5 cm tumour in October and since then have had the whole kidney out plus the adrenal gland. I am waiting for my next ct scan in a month to make sure all is well and that no other tumours have developed. I have not recieved any Chemo or Radiation as so far there is no signs of anything?? touch wood.

What is happening with you. Are they going to remove it  or what. Hope everything goes well for you.

All the best.. Jill D. New Zealand.

    Hi Jill

Just thought i'd reply to you, had a radical nephrectomy, took my adrenal gland and surrounding fat and tissue away, hopefully leaving me with a healthy margin! Unfortunately not so lucky as my cancer had spread to the lymphs on the left side of my neck.  I have been told that I will be terminal and they cannot cure me but control the symptoms with chemo (Avastin) and interferon (to boost my immune system) it seems to be working as far as the tumours in my neck go (touch wood) as they are now shrinking a bit! I feel well apart from some of these horrible side effects, but this is nothing compared to some people!! Hope we can keep in touch! take care Jill

    Hi Ruth

I'm glad the glands in your neck are clear!! How did you discover you had oral cancer? what sort of symptoms did you have? I know it is very frightning to be told you have cancer, I always thought it would happen to other people-not me! I used to feel sorry for people diagnosed with cancer, and thinking 'phew thank god thats not me'! and here I am living the nightmare! Anyway hope your doing ok, Have you got the all clear? take care Jill
